THE MAYAN EMPIRE
The Maya empire encompasses an area that today is divided into five countries: southern Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, northern Honduras and El Salvador. Guatemala lies at the heart of this vast territory, home to the Maya and their cultural achievements, many mysteries remain, including the reasons for the collapse of Classic Maya cities in about 900 AD.

Visitors will have ample opportunity to learn about, and reflect on, Maya civilization as they tour archaeological sites, museums and indigenous villages in Guatemala, in the very heart of the Maya world.
